The Vaccine Specialist is an essential part of our Pharmacy team, working with other pharmacy staff to provide low barrier access to patients in need of vaccines and appropriate immunizations. This role interfaces directly with patients, completing the necessary registration and consent paperwork, updating insurance status as appropriate, approaching patients regarding vaccine education, reviewing charts and records on scheduled patients, and assisting in preparing and administering needed vaccines to patients. The vaccine specialist also assists in compiling monthly reports of activities, including progress, barriers, and successes.

• Have prior experience in vaccine management and/or administration (or similar equivalent work experience).

• Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills to provide patient education at all literacy levels.

• Thrive productively in their autonomously work, but also cooperate as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure accurate, timely, and positive clinic flow.

• Have the flexibility in their schedule to meet varying needs of the population served or vaccine events which may at times extend beyond traditional business hours.

• Are willing and able to drive and use personal transportation as needed around Salt Lake City area (travel is fully reimbursed according to IRS guidelines.)

• Have experience working with governmental, non-profit, or for-profit health centers (preferred but not essential).

• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
